UCEP Nepal advances child rights through its 2007 child protection policy and participation in networks like CZOPP, NCPD, and HRTMCC.

Child Rights Advocacy and Networking

Child rights are often violated in Nepal knowingly or unknowingly due to multiple factors such as:

  • Extreme poverty of fragmented families
  • Political and social context
  • Social turmoil
  • Poor parental supervision

UCEP Nepal has published the UCEP Nepal Child Protection Policy 2007, and all stakeholders are mandated to adhere to it. UCEP Nepal is a member of the following networks that advocate child rights issues:

  • CZOPP — Children as Zone of Peace and Protection
  • NCPD — Network for Child Prisoners and their Dependence
  • HRTMCC — Human Rights Treaty Monitoring Coordinating Committee
